Because... It's Homemade!

Hello everyone!

I was sitting at home a few nights ago and was craving taco salad. I had all the ingredients except the usual taco seasoning that I use. So, I ended up Googling for a homemade recipe version. This is what I found...

Taco Seasoning Mix

Ingredients

    1 tbsp Chili Powder
    1 tsp ground cumin
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp paprika
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 tsp onion powder
    1/4 tsp dried oregano
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

Combine all the spices in a bowl and keep in an airtight container in a cool dry place until ready to use.

To Make Taco Meat:

Brown 1 pound ground beef with 1/2 of a white onion, diced until crumbled and no longer pink. Drain any fat and return skillet to stove top. Add in 2 1/2 tbsp of seasoning mix (one recipe) along with 1/4 cup of water. Stir until combined and water has reduced.
